Creative Sketches has a very interesting challenge this week – a Collage Stamping Sketch. I usually shy away from using too many stamps or images on one card (I’m from the school of thought that “Less is More”), so this was a dare to myself. Although my dad is been gone for almost 25 years, Father’s Day is something I cherish, as I celebrate it by commemorating his life and his memory. With those thoughts in my head, I headed to my craft table at 2:30am, got the latest Josh Groban CD – and had me some fun!
The image was stamped on Watercolor paper and colored using an Aqua brush and SU! Classic inks. Some stardust shimmer has been added to simulate the chrome details of vehicles of days past…
SUPPLIES are Stampin’ Up, unless noted: Stamps: Plane and Simple set (#), Sketchy Stars (The Paper Studio), Classic (Stamps Happen, Inc.), Distressing (clear stamps Glitz Design), Times (clear stamps Oriental Trading); Inks: Cherry Cobbler (#119669), Night of Navy (#102977), Baja Breeze (#111833), Pale Plum (retired), Perfect Plum (#101437), Basic Grey (#109120), Taken with Teal (retired), VersaFine Onyx Black (Tsukineko), Chalk inks (Copper Metallic, Soft Green, Latte – unknown provenience); Cardstock: Whisper White (#100730), Baja Breeze (#111352), Not Quite Navy (#101722), Cherry Cobbler (#119685), Watercolor paper (#105019) ; Punch: Ticket Corner Punch (#119867); Snail Adhesive (#104332); Hemp Twine in old gold (unknown provenience); Brads in Copper.
